Cookie notice

This website sets no cookies of its own. There is no analytics, no advertising, no tracking pixel, no session recording, no heat mapping and no attempt to recognise you when you come back.

There is no consent banner, because nothing here needs consent.

Three things nevertheless reach beyond the page, and all three are set out below: a strictly necessary security cookie our edge provider may set, a request your browser makes to Google's font servers, and the ordinary server log every web server keeps.

One more thing that is absent and worth naming. This site never requests a wallet connection, never probes your browser for a wallet extension, and never asks you to sign anything.

Australia has no separate cookie consent regime. There is no local equivalent of the European ePrivacy Directive, and no Australian statute requires a banner before a cookie is set. A cookie banner on an Australian website is a design choice, or an imported habit, and not compliance with anything local.

What does apply is the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Where a cookie or a similar technology collects information about an individual who is identified or reasonably identifiable, that is personal information and the Australian Privacy Principles apply to it. APP 3 governs whether we may collect it, APP 5 requires that we tell you, and APP 6 limits what we may then do with it.

So the questions worth answering are whether we told you, whether the thing is necessary, and whether it is used only for what we said. This page answers all three.

A consent banner exists to collect permission for storage that is not strictly necessary. There is none of that here, so a banner would be asking you to agree to nothing.

That is worse than leaving it out. It teaches people to click through a control that matters on other sites, it implies this site is doing something it is not, and the click itself is often logged, which means the banner collects more than the site did.

If analytics or advertising is ever added to this website, we will ask before it loads, refusing will be exactly as easy as accepting, refusing will not degrade the site, and this page will be updated before the change goes live rather than after somebody notices.

That is the complete list. We set nothing ourselves, neither cookie is readable by us as an identifier of you, and neither is used to build any profile.

Our own code writes nothing to local storage, session storage, IndexedDB, the cache API or any other client side store. You can verify that in the Application panel of your browser's developer tools in less time than it took to read this paragraph.

• No Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, Matomo, Umami or analytics of any other kind.
• No advertising, no advertising cookies and no advertising identifiers.
• No Meta pixel, no LinkedIn Insight tag, no TikTok pixel, no X pixel and no conversion tracking of any kind.
• No session recording, no heat mapping, no scroll tracking and no rage click detection.
• No embedded video, no map, no social widget, no chat widget and no comment system.
• No fingerprinting through canvas, fonts, audio, WebGL or anything else, and no attempt to recognise a returning visitor.
• No wallet connection request, no injected provider detection, no eth_requestAccounts call, no signature request and no chain switch prompt.
• No form of any kind, so no form field is captured as you type and nothing is stored if you navigate away.

The last two matter in this sector specifically. A site that probes for a browser wallet learns something about you before you have agreed to anything, and a site that asks for a signature is one social engineering step away from a very bad day. Neither happens here, and neither will.

This site loads three typefaces from Google Fonts, at fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com. When your browser fetches them it tells Google's servers your IP address, your user agent and the page that referred the request.

Google states that the Fonts service sets no cookies for these requests and does not use them for advertising or profiling. We have no way to audit that, so we are telling you the request exists rather than describing it as if it did not.

Self hosting the fonts would remove the request entirely and it is on the list of things to do. Until it is done, this is the honest description. Blocking those two hosts in your browser leaves this site perfectly usable in a system typeface.

Every web server records the requests it receives. Ours records the IP address, the timestamp, the path requested, the user agent and the response code, and our edge provider derives an approximate country from the IP address.

None of that is stored on your device, so it is not a cookie. It is still personal information in the hands of whoever holds it, and a page that lists cookies while staying quiet about logs is telling half the story.

The logs sit with the hosting provider on its own cycle, currently under 30 days, and they are used for delivering pages and defending against abuse. They are not analysed for behaviour, not joined to anything, and not exported.

Every major browser lets you block cookies, delete them, and inspect exactly what a site has set. Blocking the two cookies above may mean the edge provider challenges you more often, but this website will still work.

• Chrome. Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third party cookies and Site data.
• Safari. Settings, then Privacy, then Manage Website Data.
• Firefox. Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
• Edge. Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.

A content blocker that stops requests to fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com will remove the only outbound request this site makes. We would rather you did that than felt you had to trust us about it.

Both signals are honoured, which is easy to say here because there is nothing on this site to switch off. If either header is present, no additional storage and no additional processing occurs, and that is also true if neither is present.

We say so anyway. A site that quietly ignores these signals has made a choice it would prefer you did not notice, and the only way to tell the difference between that and a site with nothing to disable is for the second one to state its position.

Anything that stores information on your device beyond the two cookies listed above will be added to this page, with a new effective date, before it goes live. Where the law that applies to you requires consent, we will ask first, and refusing will not degrade the site.

If we ever publish an analytical view, that view may need a small amount of strictly necessary storage, for instance to remember a display preference within a session. If it does, it will be listed here with its name, its purpose and its lifetime, in the same table format, before the view is available to anybody.
